September 3, 2010 -
Okay, I am a bad human being and have neglected this place for way too long again… so, erm, time for an update, or well, more of an information overload really.
First up, three of my older books The Sufferer’s Song, The Last Angel and Laughing Boy’s Shadow are now available to buy in a whole host of e-book formats. What’s interesting about this, I hope, is that Sufferer’s has never been available before. A few reviews are in already describing it as Koontzian horror with a sci-fi twist, which pretty much sums up. I’ll be putting a full description up in the books section later. The other two are older books that getting a new lease of life in the digital age. If you have one them new-fangled e-book reader thingamywhatsits then why not treat yourself, they’re cheaper than a decent cup of coffee at a whopping 2.99 in those US dollars.
Second up, London Macabre (a book I really struggle to describe in a single sentence) has been picked up in Poland by Copernicus Corporation, and they’re already working closely with me to ensure that nothing gets lost in translation. There’s something immensely gratifying about this sale – not only is it the first for the new book, it’s sold overseas before it’s sold into either the UK or US, which just pleases my contrary nature.
Thirdly, my new SG1 novel The Power Behind the Throne is available right now, as in right this minute. It was released yesterday.
Fourthly (is there such a word?) Shadow of the Jaguar, my Primeval novel, is getting a paperback release next year, courtesy of the fine folks at Titan Books.
Fifthly (pretty sure this one isn’t a word) The Black Chalice, my new Knights of Albion novel is nearing completion, well in time for release early next year. The mock up cover has just popped up on Amazon and a few other places. I’ll spill more gossip as we near release, promise.
And sixthly, there’s Project Venice, which is my current assignment for the folks over at DICE/EA. Yep, Young Sav is making his first foray into the world of computer games. Were I to say any more at this junture, the page would self-destruct and some men in suits would knock on my door to ‘disappear’ me. So mum’s the word.
And finally, my audio book The Forgetting Wood, has been nominated for an Audie Award. Needless to say I am delighted, honoured, and all that. I think Ian Stuart did a remarkable job of bringing Hoke and friends to life, so I hope you’ll check it out here on Amazon.
That about wraps it up for now – more news will follow soon, as in a shock move my web page starts to be updated on a regular basis and everything. Reports that things will also start falling upwards as Pigs fly past in small aviator goggles are unfounded.

Steve Chats, you say? Really? This is the guy who updated his website once in 17 months!
Yep, I admit it, I am useless, but between you and me, here's the
plan: this little bit here, Steve Chats, is where I will come (once in a while) and get whatever's on my chest off it. It might be essays about writing, day to day blather about the new book, gossip about sales, signings, or just 'stuff'. Most likely it'll be stuff. I'm a writer, that's what we call our work, 'stuff'. So anyway, this is where you'll find the Word of Steve.
